SHELL MOUNDS: Giant moss-draped live oaks, such as this specimen, are abundant throughout the Park. The tree above is estimated by botanists to be approximately 800 years old, and was a mature oak when the Spaniards first visited the shores of Dauphin Island in 1519. A self-guided tour through Shell Mound Park should be included in any visit to the area.

BEACH WEDDING!!! The beach has always been one of my favorite places on earth. The beachis why we love Dauphin Island so much. Standing there on the shores ofthe Gulf of Mexico, looking out over the surf, wind in my face andDauphin Island's warm white sand tickling my feet. There is somethingreally special about the beach.
